Yvette Tan, a writer from the Philippines, explains the five myths about freelance writing. It's universal isn't it?

A college paper reports some of the marketable majors and some less than marketable, including journalism. However, if you scroll down the page you'll see something very illuminating. "Jim Stovall, journalism professor, said journalism majors have skills that will continue to make them marketable. “I have never experienced that people who can write and gather information have had trouble finding a job,” Stovall said. “People who can write well have a skill that not many people have.” The market shifts but the need for clear writing and some form of editing is an eternal part of the market.
