Director of Publications/Editor in Chief
Location: Dallas, Texas

MPI has an immediate opening for a Director of Publications. This position will be responsible for overseeing the strategic planning and direction of The Meeting Professional and ancillary publications products; introducing magazine best practices for design, readability and content; ensuring editorial content meets segmentation and market needs of MPI s membership; weaving business language, practices and experts into publication content delivery; directing the editorial development and production of all publications; and collaborating with the Director of Advertising Sales to facilitate new product development and editorial approaches to support sales. This position supervises six professionals and is required to travel up to 10% annually.

Successful candidate will be a high caliber team leader with a strong commitment to innovate and motivate. Strong problem solving, organizational, and communication skills, plus the ability to manage multiple projects and possess business acumen are required. Qualified applicants must posses a Bachelors degree or equivalent, have seven or more years related writing, editing and supervisory experience, and be highly computer proficient in a PC or Macintosh environment. Previous work experience overseeing an industry publication, especially magazines or journals, a master s degree, plus work in a membership-based organization are highly preferred.
