Publications Manager
Cambridge, MA

The Boston Research Center for the 21st Century, an international peace institute, seeks talented and versatile individual to head up our publishing program. The publications manager would produce an annual report, event reports, and a substantive semi-annual newsletter on the Center's activities currently distributed to 7,000+ peace scholars, activists, and academics. Other responsibilities include: production of collateral material, articles, and other written materials as needed; production management including contracting with and providing direction to freelance writers, printers, copyeditors, and others as needed; supervising a half-time assistant; working with BRC staff in a team-spirited way. The BRC publications manager also develops and promotes books on education, peace issues, and global ethics for use in college courses. Salary: commensurate with experience.

Position requires extensive writing and editing background; knowledge of publishing industry and interpersonal skills. Added plus: strong academic background, an interest in peacework as well as familiarity with academic fields related to education.

This is a full-time position available in mid-January, 2007.
