NETWORKING

This means a lot of different things to different people. It comes down to this: Find people who can help you and join with them in some common interest. The best way to do this is to join a professional association. Treat yourself as a professional and treat others professionally. Your network can include almost anyone interested in helping you as you help them. It works both ways. Some of the types of people to form networks with:

  • former employers
  • consultants
  • neighbors
  • friends and relatives
  • work associates
  • college associates
  • clergy
  • people you meet while travelling
