PUBLIC RELATIONS

Many students trained in journalism go into public relations. It is made up of many facets including speech writing, public affairs, and media relations. The job consists of being an advocate for an association, a company, an agency that is in the public eye. Your job is to protect the reputation of the organization by presenting its point of view and in its best light.

Unlike journalism the writer is not trying to provide an objective view or a critical view but an advocacy view that will offer the public the organization in the most favorable light.
